FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing 1-acetyl-2-imidazolidone. Method involves interaction of 2-imidazolidone and acetic anhydride taken in the mole ratio 1:2, the following dilution the prepared reaction mixture with lower alkyl acetate, stirring at 70-75oC up to formation uniform easily stirring suspension, cooling mass, filtering, washing out the prepared product with alkyl acetate and drying. Invention provides preparing product with the yield 77% with mass part of the main substance 96%, not less, and melting point 190-192oC (188-189oC by literature data).
