FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing condensed 2-hetarylimidazoles of the general formula: ^ ^ using diamine of the general formula ^ ^ wherein A means ^ ^ R means 2-furyl, 2-thienyl, 2-(1-methyl)-pyrrolyl, 3-(1-methyl)-indolyl and aldehydes in the presence of copper acetate or sulfate. Interaction of reagents are carried out at boiling in 50% acetic acid followed by decomposition of copper salt by effect with sodium thiosulfate on it suspension in 50% acetic acid at 100oC.
