PURPOSE: An automatic temperature control method for a vehicle is provided to make an interior room of the vehicle clean and to reduce the unnecessary consumption of power by controlling a heating start operation based on temperature of the external air, deviation between internal and external air temperatures, and traveling conditions. CONSTITUTION: An automatic temperature control method for a vehicle is composed of steps for determining a continuous time of a heating start operation for controlling an intake mode into an internal air mode, a discharge mode into a defrost mode, and a blower into a manual low speed if the detected temperature of the external air is below a constant temperature(S200); regulating the heating start time set to the external air temperature according to environmental conditions if the detected temperature of the internal air is below the constant temperature; executing the heating start operation for the intake mode into the internal air mode, the discharge mode into the defrost mode, and the blower into the manual low speed for the set time(S500); comparing the temperature of the internal air with a minimum set temperature(S600); setting the intake mode into the discharge air mode, the discharge mode into a mix mode, and the blower into an automatic low speed if the temperature of the internal air is higher than the minimum set temperature(S700); comparing the temperature of the internal air with the set temperature(S800); and releasing the heating start operation if the temperature of the internal air is higher than the set temperature(S900).
