APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY ATTACHING AND DETACHING AIR SUPPLY LINE OF CONVERTER

PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically attaching and detaching air supply line of converter is provided to contribute to save molten steel production cost by effectively clearing the overheating state of the converter and enabling the converter to be operated even in the state that refractory in the converter are thinly worn out. CONSTITUTION: In a converter air cooling apparatus for air cooling the converter by injecting air onto the outer surface of metal case of a converter in which refining operation is being performed, the apparatus(1) comprises an air supply line(10) connected to one side of air injection head for surrounding the converter; a plate(30) mounted on the inner side of the air supply line and automatically opened and shut by injection pressure of air supplied to cut off an inner channel by springs(32); and a movable guide(50) elastically supported by a plurality of the springs with being slidingly inserted into a front part of the air supply line and connected to the air supply line with a front part of the movable guide being contacted with a fixed guide(22) extended from blower during tilting of the converter, wherein the metal case of the converter is cooled by supplying air to the air injection header through the air supply line and the plate during converter refining operation.
