ICE MACHINE AND WATER SUPPLY METHOD THEREOF FOR REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF WATER WASTE

PURPOSE: An ice machine and a water supply method thereof are provided to reduce the amount of water wasted by supplying the exact amount of water required for ice manufacture and to reduce power loss by preventing ice manufacture action if water is not supplied. CONSTITUTION: An ice machine(200) has an ice-making unit(230) for freezing water supplied and an ice storage(240) storing ice made. The ice machine comprises an ice-withdrawing lever(242) for withdrawing ice stored in the ice storage; a water supply tank(250) storing water supplied to the ice-making unit; a water supply pump(253) for supplying water of the water supply tank to the ice-making unit; a flow sensor(251) installed to a water supply line between the water tank and the ice-making unit, to sense the flow of the water; a control device receiving a signal from the flow sensor, calculating the amount of the supplied water, and controlling the ice manufacture action; and a display unit displaying the ice manufacture possibility state according to the amount of the water stored in the water supply tank.
