PURPOSE: Structure of a stopper for a shock absorber is provided to reduce limit for setting the impact buffering unit, and to improve riding comfort by buffering impact of a piston rod in the necking part with the stopper. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber(100) comprises a hollow outer tube(110), an inner tube(120) installed inside the outer tube and filled with oil, a piston rod(130) inserted to the inner tube and extended out of the outer tube, a rod guide assembly(140) installed in the upper part of the inner tube to support and guide the piston rod, and a stopper(150) installed in the outer periphery of the piston rod to control extension of the upper part. A stop ring(152) is fitted to the upper and lower parts of a ring-shaped body(151) of the stopper, and a ring(153) is fitted around the body. A stop rubber(160) is mounted in the upper pat of the stopper, and a necking part(122) is installed in the upper part of the inner tube by reducing the diameter for stopping of the stopper. Plural grooves(124) are axially mounted in the inner periphery of the necking part.
