PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to achieve improved portability of the apparatus and allow for ease of test through the use of a saliva sensor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a micro constant current supply unit(140); a saliva sensor(150) for receiving constant current from the micro constant current supply unit, sensing the electrical resistant value of the saliva generated from the mouth of an examinee by using a sensor electrode, and outputting micro voltages as a result of sensing; a signal amplifying and buffer unit(160) for amplifying and buffering the micro voltages output from the saliva sensor, and outputting the buffered voltage; a reference voltage set unit(130) for setting a reference voltage for putting, into a digital format, the voltage output from the signal amplifying and buffer unit; a micro computer(170) for sampling the voltage output from the signal amplifying and buffer unit, converting the sampled digital signal into a resistant value, determining an expected ovulation period by comparing the resistant value and the stored resistance value for menstrual cycle, and determining whether it is a pregnancy period; and a display unit(180) for displaying the result of determination in accordance with the display control signal.
