HEMOSTATIC WOUND DRESSING CONTAINING BIO-COMPATIBLE POLYMER AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME IMPORTANT IN TIME REDUCTION OF SURGICAL OPERATION

PURPOSE: Provided are hemostatic dressing for wound and method for hemostatic dressing to inhibit excessive bleeding and minimize loss of blood, to reduce complication after surgical operation and time required for the operation. CONSTITUTION: The dressing comprises a fabric support having first and second sides faced each other, and porous polymeric matrix uniformly distributed over the first and the second sides(32) and the fabric(30). The fabric support is useful as hemostatic material and comprises fibers prepared of bio-compatible polymer. The porous matrix comprises polymer(36) combined with knitted fabric(33) and shows great liquid absorption ability by capillary effect same to the sponge. The matrix has numerous pores of 2 to 35 micrometers.
