PURPOSE: A brass wire for electrical discharge machining and manufacturing method thereof are provided to raise the tensile strength and electric conductivity at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of brass wire for electrical discharge machining comprises the steps of: making a casting billet by melting and mixing 55-65 w% Cu, 0.2-2.7 w% Cr, 0.1-2.3 w% Nb and the rest w% Zn or impurities at 1100-1300 degrees Celsius; pressing out the billet at 600-750 degrees Celsius and quick freezing the billet; heating the billet at 450-600 degrees Celsius for 1-6 hours.
