PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device which can prevent waste of a recording material (ink) by promptly stopping jetting of the ink, and can carry out printing appropriate for the user by carrying out printing again from the beginning of an interrupted page to a new sheet without printing continuously with the interruption when the page is to be printed again. SOLUTION: The image formation device A has a separable ink cartridge 5, a sub tank 11 mounted on an inkjet head 4, a means 69 for supplying the ink 40 from the ink cartridge 5 to the sub tank 11, and a detecting means 56 for detecting setting and separation of the ink cartridge 5. The image formation device A is configured to carry out predetermined printing by main scanning of the inkjet head 4, and at the same time vertical scanning of the sheet 6. The image formation device A is equipped with a control means 59 which has the function of stopping jetting of the ink 40 being printed at present and stopping the printing when the ink cartridge 5 is detected to be pulled out in the middle of the printing.
