PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering purified tetrahydrofuran from a tetrahydrofuran-containing material containing water as a main component, 3-10C alcohols and aldehydes, especially a tetrahydrofuran-containing material which is produced as a byproduct in esterifying a dicarboxylic acid containing terephthalic acid as a main ingredient with a diol containing 1, 4-butandiol as a main ingredient, and subsequently polycondensing the same. SOLUTION: The method for purifying the tetrahydrofuran-containing material is to pass the tetrahydrofuran-containing material containing tetrahydrofuran, water, 3-10C alcohols and aldehydes comprising at least one kind selected from isobutyl aldehyde or n-butyl aldehyde through a predetermined processes and obtain predetermined purified tetrahydrofuran.
