PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend lifetime of melting furnace fire proof material, improve operation performance, and make effective use of slag and electric power by activating volatilization of molten salt and reducing molten salt layer as much as possible. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for discharging salt in an ash melting furnace 1 melting ash 8 with using electricity as a heat source. Air supply pipes 12, 13 are provided on the furnace 1. Partial pressure of vapor of salt 7 is reduced and vaporization of salt 7 is promoted and vapor of salt 7 is discharged from the furnace 1 together with exhaust gas 15 by blowing air into vapor of salt 7 piling up in an upper part of salt 7.
