It is intended to provide a composition for ophthalmic use which has a sufficient safety to the eye, can relive symptoms such as unpleasantness and dryness of the eye, exerts no undesirable effect (for example, a change in size) on contact lenses and can advantageously improve the water wettability of contact lenses.
