<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an ink supply amount capable of correctly controlling the ink supply amount irrespective of an image to be printed, and a method for correcting data for a printing machine. <P>SOLUTION: The method for controlling an ink supply amount comprises a step of obtaining an average value of the pattern area ratio of the images in the areas E1, E2 ... corresponding to the ink key in a printed matter S using the image data used in recording images; a step of obtaining an average value of the pattern area ratio of the images in the same position using the image data relative to the detection patches P1, P2, P3, P4 printed on the printed matter S in the areas E1, E2 ... corresponding to the ink key and to the printing direction; and a step of correcting reference color information based on the average value of the pattern area ratio of the images in the areas corresponding to the ink key in the printed matter S and on the average value of the pattern area ratio of the images in the same position relative to the detection patches P1, P2, P3, P4 printed on the printed matter and to the printing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
