<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source device capable of supplying electric power from a power source comprising a fuel cell to cover all operation modes of an image forming device, etc., and eliminating the need for an external power source, allowing reduced environmental load. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 2 and a fuel cartridge 3 are provided in a printer body 1. In the fuel cell 2, a direct methanol type fuel cell (DMFC) or others is used so that all the operation modes such as image forming mode can be performed with its power supply only, eliminating the need for a commercial power source having a big environmental load. The fuel cartridge 3 is exchangeable. Fluid passages 4a, 4b for supplying fuel and recovering waste water are removably provided between the fuel cartridge 3 and the fuel cell 2. Since the reaction in the fuel cell 2 is exothermic reaction, hot water is generated. The hot water is recovered through the fluid passage 4b for recovering waste water in the fuel cartridge 3, in a manner that the water is not mixed with the fuel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
