<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of operation by saving trouble in the adjustment of high voltage power supply. <P>SOLUTION: A selecting SW 28 is switched to a fixed load 29 side (ST1) so as to set input voltage Vsi=0.5 and a variable i=0 (ST2), and the Vsi is outputted to a high voltage generation circuit 27 from a D/A converter 25 (ST3), then voltage Vr in accordance with a load current is taken in from an A/D converter 26 (ST4) and stored in a RAM 23. By calculating Ki=Vr/Vsi, a correction value Ki is obtained (ST6) and stored in the RAM 23. Thereafter, the correction value Ki is calculated by increasing the Vsi by 0.5 and the (i) by 1 (ST10) and stored in the RAM 23.
