PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atomic device which facilitates integration of an atomic circuit and which can reduce the influence, etc. of the disturbance from the outside. SOLUTION: A trap position 30 is set on a substrate 1, and an electrode pattern 2 having a first paired electrode 21 made of electrodes 22, 23 formed at the positions which sandwich the trap position 30 along the x-axis of a diagonal direction, and a second paired electrode 26 made of electrodes 27, 28 formed at the positions which sandwich the trap position 30 along the y-axis perpendicular to the x-axis is formed on the substrate 1. The first state that the electrode 22 of the first paired electrode 21 is set to a positive potential +V<SB>0</SB>as seen from a reference potential and the electrode 23 is set to a negative potential -V<SB>0</SB>, and the second state that the electrode 27 of the second paired electrode 26 is set to a positive potential +V<SB>0</SB>and the electrode 28 is set to a negative potential -V<SB>0</SB>, are alternately switched.
