PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chipping from occurring when dividing a mother glass substrate and a mother silicon substrate, to prevent flaw from being generated in glass by the chipping, to stabilize material handling in following processes, and to prevent an element formed on the silicon substrate from being damaged. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel at least includes a process for putting the mother silicon substrate, where a plurality of image display regions are formed, and the mother glass substrate corresponding to the mother silicon substrate by providing a seal member for each image display region; and a process for dividing the mother silicon substrate and the mother glass substrate for each image display region. The mother glass substrate and the mother silicon substrate are diced in a V-groove shape and further a V-groove bottom section is scribed for dividing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
