PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight compact humidifier of low noise, capable of efficiently performing the humidification. SOLUTION: In this humidifier composed of a cistern part 6, a water tank 3 for supplying a certain amount of water to the cistern part 6, a suction port 10 for taking the dried air in a room, a blowout port 8 for blowing out the humidified air into the room, a blower 9 mounted in an air trunk communicating both ports 8, 10, and an evaporating filter 7 dipped in the water in the water tank part 6 at its lower part, the dried air in the room sucked from the suction port 10 by the blower 9 is made to pass through the evaporating filter 7 moisturized by the water of the cistern part 6 and blown out from the blowout port 8, and the evaporating filter 7 is formed by pleating a sheet material 7D having a high water absorption rate and having pores 7A, and cutting and removing a pleated turnup part 7B.
