PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonwoven fabric which has high peel strength even in heavy weight due to easy splitting of a conjugated fiber into fibers having small finenesses and yet has stable splittability and an excellent hue as well. SOLUTION: The conjugate fiber comprises a polyamide polymer and a polyester polymer. The polyamide polymer is one having 10-30 wt.% water absorption rate and the polyester polymer is one obtained by subjecting an aromatic dicarboxylate ester to condensation polymerization in the presence of a catalyst containing a specific titanium compound component and phosphorus compound.
