PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester multifilament yarn which is not broken in an embroidering process, has good dimensional stability after an embroidered lace-finishing process and a dyeing process, and gives a lace substrate having a soft hand. SOLUTION: This polyester multifilament yarn for the embroidered lace substrate is characterized by having a fineness of≤55 dtex, a single filament fineness of 3.0 to 7.0 dtex, an elongation breaking strength (E) of 45 to 75%, an initial tensile resistance degree (ε) of 800 to 940 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>, a boiling water shrinkage factor of≤5%, and a fuzz rate of≤5 fuzzes/10<SP>8</SP>m in the filament.
