PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair allowing a care-taker as well as an occupant to easily climb over a step in a stepped place such as the place between a driveway and a walkway and to easily run the wheelchair on a slope in the horizontal direction relative to the direction of travel, other than the difference in level, by keeping the wheelchair parallel to the gravity. SOLUTION: In the wheelchair 1, wheels 31 and 32 are attached to both sides of the rear lower part of a frame 11 on which a chair is mounted, and casters 42 and 44 are attached to both sides of the front lower parts of the frame. When the occupant is on the wheelchair, the vertical positions of the casters on both sides of the front lower parts are independently changed by actuators 41 and 43 operated by a lever or switch, according to the difference in level.
