Method has the following steps: transformation of sampled data into a sinusoidal signal where the maximum amplitude represents vector magnitude and the phase represents vector direction; comparison of maximum amplitude with a ramp signal until a first impulse is generated when the ramp signal equals this amplitude; generation of a second impulse when the sinusoidal signal first equals zero after the first impulse was generated. The first and second impulses forming by their time position a coding of magnitude and phase representing the vector information.
