A disinfectant dispenser for a WC has a reservoir (1) filled with granular, powder or liquid material and fitted with a dispensing control (4) which provides a measured amount of material after each flushing action. This ensures that the same amount of disinfectant/cleaner is dispenses irrespective of the interval between flushing. The reservoir is either placed inside the cistern or can be filled from outside the cistern. The invention can also be applied to direct line flushing system in which a dispenser adds a metered amount of disinfectant/cleaner to each flush.
