<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make processing performed by each constitution element more efficient in an image processor for compressing/extending raster data acquired by development. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor 14 is provided with a plurality of processing elements including a developing circuit 36 for developing intermediate data whose plotting contents are described to generate raster data, a compressing circuit 35 for compressing the supplied data and an extending circuit 37 for extending the supplied data. A connection establishing circuit 38 establishes a plurality of paths including a path 50 for development for supplying the intermediate data to the developing circuit 36 and a path 531 for compression for supplying the raster data generated by the developing circuit 36 to the compressing circuit 35 and a path 551 for extension for supplying the raster data compressed by the compressing circuit 531 to the extending circuit 37.
