<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protective device of a vehicle capable of inflating and deploying an air bag of a side air bag device between the side interior part of the vehicle and an occupant and, if a collision does not actually occur after the collision of the vehicle is predicted, automatically returning a protective means from an operating position to a determined position. <P>SOLUTION: A door trim 19 forming a side door 15 is dividedly formed of an upper door trim 20 and a lower door trim 21, and the lower door trim 21 is formed in a door frame 16 switchable between the determined position for determining an indoor space and the operating position moved to the lateral inner side of the vehicle. When the side collision of the vehicle is predicted by a prediction sensor 41, signals to forwardly rotating an electric motor 32 are outputted from an electronic control device 43 to switch the lower door trim 21 from the determined position to the operating position. When the collision of the vehicle is avoided, the electric motor 32 is reversely rotated to automatically switchingly dispose the lower door trim 21 to the determined position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
