<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a resin lens for a semiconductor optical element, which has a convex surface, having a function as a condensing lens and capable of letting air bubbles between the lens and a seal resin material escape to avoid the remaining of them with good productivity without forming flash. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the resin lens for the semiconductor optical element placed on the liquid seal resin material for sealing the semiconductor optical element and integrated with a seal material being the cured matter of the liquid seal resin material when used, a cavity recessed part having a depressed part arcuate in its cross section having a concave surface for forming the convex surface becoming the condensing surface of the lens is provided on a mold and the cavity recessed part is filled with a liquid resin material for the lens so that the liquid resin material for the lens becomes a liquid droplet for forming the convex surface on the cavity recessed part by the surface tension of the liquid resin material to heat and cure the liquid drop of the resin material for the lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
