PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a rotational angle of a rotor shaft, and to cope with high rotation of a resolver. SOLUTION: This AD converter 21 built in a DPS 2 AD-converts a sine wave output and a cosine wave output of the resolver. A shaft angle computing part 22 calculates tanθ=Asinωt×sinθ/Asinωt×cosθ, based on Asinωt×sinθand Asinωt×cosθof AD conversion outputs, and calculates furtherθ=tan<SP>-1</SP>θ. The shaft angle computing part 22 checks polarities of the sinθand the cosθin the AD conversion outputs to determine the present position (present shaft angle) of the rotor in the resolver, and an off-set is added to a calculatedθto calculate finally the rotational angle of the rotor shaft.
