PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming device that can control the amount of the lubrication agent supplied to the surface of an image carrier to coat in an appropriate amount and maintain a clean surface for a long time, even if a spherical toner is used. SOLUTION: In a photographic image forming device has an image carrier on which an latent image is formed, a coating means to apply lubricant to the surface of an image carrier, and a cleaning means consisting of an elastic blade to remove the toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier, the photographic image forming device has a means of detecting the vibrations of the elastic blade generated by the lubricant and controls the amount of the lubricant to be supplied to the surface of the image carrier, depending on the detection signal thus obtained.
