PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas supply system capable of preventing the occurrence of failure in igniting a gas appliance, when the supply of a fuel gas is restarted in the gas appliance interrupted because of the occurrence of abnormality. SOLUTION: In this gas supply system comprising the gas appliances 5, 7, 9 respectively comprising a gas opening and closing valve 4, 6, 8, gas supply pipes 1 connected with the gas appliances through the gas opening and closing valves 4, 6, 8, a gas main valve 3, a control means 20 communicatable with each gas appliance and controlling the operation of the gas main valve 3, and a gas supply stopping instruction means for instructing the stop of the supply of fuel gas to the control means 20, the control means 20 stops the supply of fuel gas to the gas supply pipe by closing the gas main valve 3, after transmitting a valve closing instruction signal instructing the closing of the opening and closing valves 4, 6, 8 to each gas appliance, when the instruction for stopping the supply of fuel gas is given from the gas supply stopping instruction means 2, 40.
