PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sliding loss and leakage loss between a piston and a cylinder and increase abrasion resistance in an oilless linear compressor. SOLUTION: A closed container 101 includes a linear motor 102, a cylinder 104, a piston 105, and springs 106a, 106b. The cylinder 104 and the piston 105 constitute a gas bearing 109. In at least one side of the sliding surface of the cylinder 104 and the piston 105, a mixed layer 105a where molybdenum disulfide (MoS<SB>2</SB>) adheres is formed. In the event of solid contact, the molybdenum disulfide is cleaved at a low friction coefficient to exhibit solid lubrication behavior, thereby lowering the friction coefficient of the sliding part. This behavior also allows some contact between the cylinder 104 and the piston 105, thereby lowering the pressure of the high-pressure refrigerant gas supplied to the gas bearing 109, which reduces a leakage loss.
