METHOD FOR PRODUCING N-SUBSTITUTED INDOLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an N-substituted indole useful as a raw material for medicines, agrochemicals and electronic materials in high purity on an industrial scale at a low cost. SOLUTION: The method for the production of the high-purity N-substituted indole having a specific structure comprises the reaction of an N-acyl-N-hydroxyaniline compound with a vinyl ester in the presence of a noble metal catalyst comprising a platinum-group element and/or a compound containing a platinum-group element and at least one kind of a cocatalyst in the presence or absence of a reaction solvent.
