POROUS MEDICAL ADHESIVE COMPRISING CYANONACRYLATE

Curable adhesive compositions are provided comprising a cyanoacrylate polymer admixed with a polymeric additive which is sufficiently soluble in the presence of moisture to form pores, in the adhesive composition. Typically the pores will range, in size, from 100nm to 500µm and are formed in the adhesive mass during or after the occurance of the curing of the adhesive. The ratio of the cyanoacrylate to additive polymer may suitably range from 0.001 to 75% and will produce acceptable adhesive strength, typically within the range of 0.03KPa to 1000Kpa.
