PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a personal identification without requiring an expensive input device when the personal identification is needed for log-in to a computer system, unlocking of a door, etc. SOLUTION: This device comprises a timing signal registration part 11, a timing signal detection part 13, and a personal identification control part 14. The control part 14 collates a switch opening and closing timing signal detected by the detection part 13 with a switch opening and closing timing signal in a predetermined period which is registered by the timing signal registration part 11 to give a permission of security release. An identification accuracy control part 15 varies the quality of identification according to the level of identification.
