PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode plate for a battery, preventing the sudden death of the battery due to falling of an active material from the end of the electrode plate even when the electrode plate has a thinner core material for a higher capacity of the battery. SOLUTION: The strip electrode plate 27 is made to travel in a standing condition, and the end 28 of the strip electrode plate 27 is fitted at to a transfer groove 25 in a cylindrical face 26 of a transfer roll 22 which is rotated in the same direction as the travelling direction of the strip electrode plate 27. Thereby, hot-melt solution floating from a solution jar onto the transfer groove 25 is transferred to the end 28 of the strip electrode plate 27 to form a U-shaped hot-melt solution layer 31. Then, the hot-melt solution layer 31 is fixed to the end 28 of the electrode plate 27 after carried to a drying furnace. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
