摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road shape recognizing device high in the detection precision of a road shape. SOLUTION: This device is provided with: a present vehicle location detecting means 101 for detecting the location of a present vehicle; a road information storing means 102 for storing the shape of a road; a road shape acquiring means 103 for acquiring point data associated with the road shape of the traveling direction of the present vehicle only by a fixed distance based on the present vehicle location detected by the present vehicle location detecting means; a curve block identifying means 104 for calculating the refractive angleθbetween links connecting point data based on the point data of the road shape within a range acquired by the road shape acquiring means, and identifying the start point and end point of a curve based on the refractive angleθ; and a road shape acquisition distance extending means 105 for reading the point data associated with the road shape to the point judged as the end of the curve when it is judged that its own vehicle is taking a curve by the curve block identifying means.
