PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recorder which is conveniently handled by a user by enabling an image quality parameter and a sound quality parameter to be set corresponding to program contents for video recording with a simple operation, and also to provide an information recording method thereof. SOLUTION: In the information recorder for recording a video signal subjected to signal processing corresponding to the image quality parameter and a sound signal subjected to signal processing corresponding to the sound quality parameter, one combination is selected among a plurality of preregistered combinations of image quality parameters and sound quality parameters, and the selected image quality parameter and sound quality parameter are subjected to signal processing of a video signal and a sound signal.
