PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonionic surfactant for manufacturing a synthetic resin exhibiting excellent water resistance. SOLUTION: The use of the nonionic surfactant for emulsion polymerization of an acrylic monomer or the like suppresses bad influences by the residual surfactant and permits the manufacture of the synthetic resin exhibiting remarkably excellent water resistance.
