PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package having predetermined winding length by easily winding back an intermediate product when winding stops during winding-back by original conditions. SOLUTION: This automatic winder has a winding unit 1 for releasing a spinning yarn from a yarn supply package and winding it around a winding package, a start and stop function for starting and stopping winding, and a machine base controller 4 provided with an interruption information control part 75 for obtaining operation information of the winding unit 1 immediately before interruption when interrupting winding during winding and a restoration part 76 for reading operation information and letting the winding unit 1 restart winding based on the operation information when restarting the interrupted winding.
