摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system capable of giving a fold to an arbitrary position of a sheet in accordance with user's desire in mixed mode. SOLUTION: First, length L<SB>1</SB>of sheet is measured. The sheet S is conveyed in the forward direction along a conveyance passage 20. When the length L<SB>1</SB>of the sheet is larger than L<SB>0</SB>equivalent to length from a rear end specified by a user to a fold part, a tip of the sheet is conveyed in the first forward direction by only distance L<SB>3</SB>= L<SB>1</SB>-L<SB>0</SB>+L<SB>2</SB>from a sheet detection position P<SB>1</SB>so that a part apart from the rear end by distance L<SB>0</SB>is set to a folding position P<SB>2</SB>after the tip of the sheet passes through the detection position P<SB>1</SB>of a sheet detection sensor 23 (Fig.(a)) to stop rotation of pairs of a first delivery roller to a fourth delivery roller 22, 24, 30, 32 (Fig.(b)). Next, a fold is given to the sheet S by a folding unit 28 (Fig.(c)). If the length L<SB>1</SB>of the sheet is smaller than L<SB>0</SB>, a fold is not given to the sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
