PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a human body without a sense of congruity without spoiling the design property of a toilet lid when a human body detecting sensor is provided. SOLUTION: This toilet device has a body 1 which is mounted on a toilet bowl 8, the toilet lid 3 and a toilet seat 2 which are pivotally attached to the body 1 in a manner to be freely turnable, and a sensor unit 4 in which the human body detecting sensor 7 for detecting the human body is built. By attaching the sensor unit 4 on the outer side of the toilet lid 3 and the toilet seat 2, an opening for passing an infrared ray which is projected/received to the toilet lid 3 from/by the sensor unit 4 becomes unnecessary, and the human body can be detected without a sense of congruity without spoiling the design property of the toilet lid 3.
