PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a frame disusing method by which storage capacity is secured while minimizing the deterioration of picture quality of contents information by setting the disuse priority of I frames lower than that of P frames and disusing frames in accordance with the disuse priority. SOLUTION: A proxy cache device 20 is provided with a storage means for storing a GOP (group of pictures) including I frames allowed to be independently reproduced and P frames allowed to be reproduced by forward prediction and constituted so as to reproduce the I frames and the P frames in order, a priority setting means for setting the disuse priority of the I frames lower than that of the P frames and a frame disusing means for disusing the frames constituting the GOP in accordance with the disuse priority when the storage capacity of the storage means is short.
