PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device with high mass productivity and long life by adopting a manufacturing method using an ink jet process. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the organic EL device in which the organic EL device 10 having a first electrode 2, a second electrode 5, and an organic EL layer 4 arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode 5 is manufactured, and contains a process preparing a substrate in which the first electrode is formed; a process forming the organic EL layer on the first electrode containing a process depositing an organic EL material layer on the first electrode and a process exposing the surface of at least part of the organic EL material layer to a first organic solvent; and a process forming a second electrode directly coming into contact with the surface 4s of at least part of the organic EL layer.
