PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and easily manufacture a group of magnetic transfer master carriers constituted of first and second magnetic transfer master carriers of a magnetic disk medium. SOLUTION: A first submaster disk 1 is formed from a master disk 0 having recessed and projected patterns on a surface according to desired information by electrocasting, a plurality of second subdisks 2 are formed from the first sub master disk 1 by electocasting, a third sub master disk 3 is formed from one 2-1 of the second sub master disks 2, one of the second sub master disks 2 is used as the substrate of a first magnetic transfer master carrier 51 for one recording surface 56 of one magnetic disk medium 55, and the third sub master disk 3 is used as the substrate of a second magnetic transfer master carrier 52 for the other recording surface 57 of the magnetic disk medium 55.
