PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot system that can support work of a robot by actively supplying data to the robot from various objects such as equipment and furniture in a working environment of the robot. SOLUTION: The robot system includes a robot 110 and an object 120 capable of communicating with the robot. The object comprises a storage part 122 for storing first position data indicating its own position, and an interface 124 for receiving a request signal requesting the first position data and transmitting the first position data in response. The robot 110 comprises a storage part 112 for storing map data about an area where the object and robot can exist and second position data indicating the position of the robot itself, an interface 114 for transmitting the request signal or receiving the first position data, a comparator 118 for comparing the first position data and the second position data to output a position comparison result, and a moving mechanism 119 for moving the robot according to the position comparison result and map data.
