PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable measured result, in a rotatory power measuring system. SOLUTION: A reference optical system b is added in addition to a measuring optical system a for irradiating a specimen 105, and the measured result is corrected using a value from the reference optical system to measure stably a concentration. The measured result is further stabilized by using a technique of determining preliminarily a polarization face of linear polarized light limiting an angle of a beam splitter 104 at an acute angle when taking out a reference beam, and emitted to the beam splitter.
