A constant source (1) of current (CSOC) with a first source (4) of voltage for generating the CSOC and a further third source (38) of voltage for operating it is integrated into a test device. The CSOC links to an earth connection (EC) (48) via first connections (2,3). Voltage test equipment links to the EC via second connections (26,27) so as to measure a voltage drop created as the CSOC flows.
