FRONT PANEL FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL OF HIGH EFFICIENCY CONTAINING NANOTIPS, AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF THE SAME

A front panel for PDP capable of improving light emitting efficiency and remarkably dropping a driving voltage is disclosed. The front panel includes a transparent substrate, a sustain electrode, a bus electrode, a dielectric layer and a protective film. A tip group having one or more nano tips is formed on an upper dielectric layer at an adjacent position corresponding to the sustain electrode to be at least partially protruded from the protective film. The tip group is spaced from tip groups formed on adjacent sustain electrodes. The nano tips of one tip group are spaced at a distance capable of inducing field enhancement. Drop of the driving voltage reduces energy of ions and electrons collided with the protective film, thereby elongating life of the protective film and the fluorescent materials. Drop of the discharging voltage drops operation voltage of various electronic parts used in PDP, thereby reducing manufacture costs.
