<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat emission transducer effectively emitting an electromagnetic wave emitted from an emission source from an emission surface like, for example, a light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: The flat emission transducer converts the electromagnetic wave emitted from the emission source into flat emission. An element body 101 formed into a plate shape is composed of a material having a dielectric constant larger than outside. A plurality of closed spaces 103 of which the planes opposing an emission surface 123 are almost flat, each having a dielectric constant smaller than that of the material composing the element body 101, are formed in the element body 101.
