<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrier guide capable of restraining production of an abnormal picture image due to electric discharge and occurrence of fixing failure due to insufficient discharging of a sheet, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the sheet carrier guide with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet carrier guide 6 is arranged immediately downstream of a transfer belt 31. The sheet carrier guide 6 has an end part 61 on the upstream side of a sheet guiding surface positioned below an extension 31L of a sheet carrier surface 31a of the transfer belt 31 on it and is furnished with an upstream side part 6a gradually rising from this end part 61 on the upstream side toward downstream in the sheet carrying direction and a downstream side part 6b in parallel with the sheet carrier surface 31a. A flat surface 62 is formed on an upper surface of the upstream side part 6a. A plurality of ribs 65 are provided on the downstream side part 6b.
